Graphene is a material which was re-discovered year 2004 and it is a material extracted from graphite. It’s made up of pure carbon atoms bonded together in a hexagonal sheet-like structure. Graphene has some unique properties: Its strong (200x stronger than steel), light-weight (5x lighter than aluminium), high conductivity (70% higher than copper), transparent and flexible. Even though graphene has incredible properties, it has been challenging to create useful products at scale.
Graphmatech is an Uppsala-based graphene technology company that was founded 2017 by Dr. Mamoun Taher. The company was based upon a patented graphene hybrid material technology (Aros Graphene) which solved the long-standing agglomeration issue in graphene applications. The technology keeps graphene layers separate, enabling large scale industrial use of inexpensive graphene. The company has developed two main production technologies: Polymer graphene (formulation of polymers either by coating particles or mixing the materials) and Metal graphene (coating particles of different metals e.g. Co, Li, Al, etc. and to provide them with graphene properties).
At the webinar, Dr. Mamoun Tahe will talk about the graphene material and its unique properties. He will also give a presentation of the company that he founded, Graphmatech and its technology and the various industrial application that the company has developed with its customers.
BIO: Mamoun Taher is working as a CEO of Graphmatech, a company he founded year 2017. He has a post doctorate from Uppsala University 2016 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Luleå University of Technology year 2015. Besides this, Mamou Taher has a master’s degree in material engineering from Luleå University of Technology year 2011, master’s degree in advanced materials science and engineering from Universität des Saarlandes year 2010 and a master’s degree in biomaterials from University of Aleppo year 2009.
